Microenterprise Project

In 2017, 315 volunteers assisted 486 small business owners and microentrepreneurs through the Microenterprise Project by providing legal assistance and teaching legal workshops.

Sustainable Change

When you help somebody overcome the legal hurdles to starting their own business, you are making a difference that can last a lifetime or longer. Small business ownership is a great way for somebody to become – and remain –financially stable while pursuing their dreams.

Small businesses are also good for their communities. In addition to providing valuable goods and services, small businesses create jobs and stimulate local economies.

Who We Serve

The Microenterprise Project serves small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York City who meet our income requirements. In order to have the biggest impact possible, we also screen potential clients for whether their businesses are ready for, and would benefit from, the legal help that we and our partner firms offer.
