Welcome, Alyssa Villareal

We are pleased to announce that Alyssa Villareal has joined VOLS as our first ever Staff Attorney for the Elderly Project.  In 2014, Alyssa received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was President of the Trusts & Estates Association, a member of the Tax Law Club, and an advocate in the Unemployment Action Center.  She was a student legal intern in Cardozo’s Guardianship clinic, and has worked with small law firms on trusts and estates issues.  Most recently, she volunteered with NYLAG’s Total Life Choices Unit, preparing Wills, Powers of Attorneys and Medical Advance Directives.

In the interview process, we were inspired by Alyssa’s commitment to providing legal services to low-income elders facing life planning issues.  Her compassion, knowledge, and dedication made us excited to think of her being part of the VOLS team.

“The addition of Alyssa Villareal as our first Elderly Project Staff Attorney, will allow the Project to broaden our reach and serve more low income seniors.  Alyssa’s experience and expertise in Trusts and Estates will not only allow us to better serve our clients, but will also allow us to better support our pro bono partners.” Peter Kempner, Elderly Project Director.

Join us in saying welcome to Alyssa.  Her email is:  avillareal@volsprobono.org
