VOLS is proud to announce the hiring of Stephanie Taylor, our new Unemployed Workers Project Director.
Stephanie comes to VOLS with nearly 15 years of legal services experience. She has a wide depth and breadth of experience in serving New Yorkers, including survivors of gender-based violence, immigrant communities, and seniors, and involving pro bono in that work. She started her career at Legal Services for the Hudson Valley providing general practice legal services in their Elder Law Unit. She then moved to Queens Legal Services where she began her time there as a Staff Attorney in the DV & Family Law Project and Immigrant Rights Project. She later became the Deputy Director of those Projects and then the Director. In 2018 she joined Brooklyn Legal Services as the Director of the Immigrants’ Rights & Advocacy Project.
At Queens Legal Services and Brooklyn Legal Services she helped to build and run the Legal Services NYC pro bono response to the draconian immigration policies of the Trump administration. She has also been deeply involved in the DEI work that Legal Services NYC has embarked in over the past few years.
We are beyond thrilled that Stephanie has joined the VOLS team, and we look forward to working with her in the coming weeks and months. Welcome!
