VOLUNTEERS OF LEGAL SERVICE ELECTS ANTONY L. RYAN AS CHAIR, BOARD OF DIRECTORS
July 25, 2023, New York, NY – Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS) is pleased to announce that Antony L. Ryan, Partner, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, has been elected as Chair, Board of Directors.
“It has been an honor to serve as Chair of VOLS Board of Directors, and I welcome Antony to the role,” said outgoing Chair, Karen Artz Ash, Partner, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, who will continue to serve on the VOLS Board of Directors. “Antony’s commitment to VOLS has been evident during his years of service as an involved Board Member. His strategic and intelligent approach and passion for pro bono will help propel VOLS further into the future.”

In his practice at Cravath, Antony handles a wide variety of litigation matters, focusing on securities litigation, accountants’ liability, M&A litigation and antitrust law, and regularly represents clients in federal and state courts around the country. He has been widely recognized for his broad litigation practice, including by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation and Lawdragon.
Antony also maintains an active pro bono practice, serving as Cravath’s Pro Bono Partner, and is considered a leader in this area within the private bar. Cravath has been a long-time partner of VOLS Children’s Project, which provides school- and hospital-based support for low-income children and their families. This work included a recent asylum win for a family whose child was receiving an organ transplant for a rare disease for which medical care was unavailable in the home country and who faced persecution upon return.
