Recently, attorneys volunteering through VOLS’ Immigration Project completed deferred action applications for 15 immigrant students.  In addition to help preparing their deferred action applications, these students will receive full legal representation throughout the process.

Prior to the clinic, the volunteer attorneys attended a training conducted by Liz Markuci, the Director of VOLS’ Immigration Project, and Bronx Defenders and hosted by Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett.

Ms. Markuci said, “We are very grateful to our participating law firms and lawyers for devoting time and resources to providing effective representation for these aspiring students at such a crucial time.”
