With profound sadness, the Incarcerated Mothers Law Project notes the loss of Florence Roberts, a leader, mentor and friend who was dedicated to protecting the legal rights of New York’s most vulnerable residents. Following her retirement, Florence worked as a tireless advocate as a pro bono lawyer with VOLS, generously devoting much of her time and expertise to helping incarcerated women protect their parental rights and maintain family ties.
