The NY Veterans Law Working Group, co-chaired by VOLS Legal Director Peter Kempner submitted written testimony to the New York State Permanent Commission on Access to Justice for consideration in the Chief Judge’s 2023 Hearing on Civil Legal Services on September 18, 2023. The Working Group, advocated in support of funding for civil legal services in order to address the challenges faced by low-income veterans, military service members and their families in New York.
