Do you know someone who has been harassed, frightened, or confused by debt-collection attorneys before a lawsuit was started against them? If so, please let me know. 

Lawyers at some local legal services offices are working on papers to submit in connection with a court case that aims to challenge the NYC Dep’t of Consumer Affairs’ rules requiring the licensing of debt collectors, including attorneys who are in the business of collecting debts.  The legal services lawyers who are working on this wish to speak to people who have had bad experiences with attorneys who have contacted them prior to the commencement of a court case.
