Jerry Dragon’s journey from being homelessness to founding CleanliYES, a Brooklyn-based cleaning company, wasn’t easy. It required a vision, hard work, and taking risks. Our goal at the VOLS’ Microenterprise Project is to give entrepreneurs like Jerry access to top-quality pro bono legal services so they can focus their limited resources on building a successful business. Our pro bono law firm partners also recognize this need. We thank Glory Nwaugbala, Law Clerk, and Richard Goldberg, Partner, from Dechert LLP, for assisting CleanliYES with drafting an operating agreement and customer contracts.
Jerry hasn’t forgotten how much a helping hand can mean to those in need. For the second year in a row Jerry and CleanliYES are providing Thanksgiving lunch and dinner to residents of the Wards Island Shelter. Last year they ran out of food because the demand was so great. You can help ensure they have enough this year by donating to Jerry’s Thanksgiving Project.
VOLS is proud to play a part in Jerry’s path toward economic stability. To support the work of our Microenterprise Project so that additional low-income entrepreneurs can receive vital pro bono legal assistance, please also consider donating to VOLS today. And remember to support your local and small businesses this holiday season.
VOLS’ Microenterprise Project is supported in part by a grant from the New York Bar Foundation.
