I’m writing to let you know about a FREE webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., on the subject of coordinating Medicaid and Medicare benefits for clients with HIV.

Presented by the Legal Action Center, Empire Justice Center, and the AIDS Institute, this webinar will provide a basic explanation of how Medicaid and Medicare fit together for individuals living with HIV who are eligible for both programs (“dual eligibles”), with special emphasis on the Medicare Part D drug benefit and how to best coordinate that coverage with other public health programs in New York State, like ADAP, EPIC, and Medicaid.  Empire Justice will also discuss the problems clients are likely to encounter in applying for the Part D’s low-income subsidy and identify advocacy strategies to maximize help with prescription drug costs.
