Yesterday, the New York Times published a feature-length article on PS 188, a participant in VOLS’ School-based Children’s Project. See “Where Nearly Half of Pupils Are Homeless, School Aims to Be Teacher, Therapist, Even Santa.” According to the article, 47 percent of students at the school were homeless last year.
Through VOLS, students and families at the school receive free legal assistance from volunteers at the law firm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel.
We applaud PS 188 Principal Suany Ramos and her staff for everything they are doing for the students and families of PS 188, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make free legal assistance accessible to the PS 188 community.
