Stephanie comes to VOLS with nearly 15 years of legal services experience. She has a wide depth and breadth of experience in serving diverse clients and involving pro bono in that work. She started her career at Legal Services for the Hudson Valley providing general practice legal services in their Elder Law Unit. She then moved to Queens Legal Services where she began her time there as a Staff Attorney in the DV & Family Law Project and Immigrant Rights Project. She later became the Deputy Director of those Projects and then the Director. In 2018 she joined Brooklyn Legal Services as the Director of the Immigrants’ Rights & Advocacy Project.
As the first immigration director at both Queens Legal Services and Brooklyn Legal Services, she was instrumental in establishing LSNYC’s immigration law practice and in LSNYC’s evolution into becoming a more immigrant-friendly organization. In response to the election of 2016, Stephanie was one of the architects of Legal Services NYC pro bono response to the draconian immigration policies of the previous administration. She has been deeply involved in Legal Services NYC DEI work over the past decade.
Stephanie has a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice in the New York Appellate Division and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
