Jean Stevens is the VOLS Supervising Attorney for Housing and Benefits Law and works primarily with the VOLS Benefits Law Project. Her previous experience includes work at Legal Services NYC in the Brooklyn office as a supervising attorney in the Housing/Right to Counsel unit, as a housing attorney Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A, and at CAMBA Legal Services. Jean is active in the Brooklyn Tenant Lawyers Network where she served currently serves as the Gender Justice Committee co-founder and organizer, and previously served as a Co-Chair of the Steering Committee from 2017–2020, an Education Committee Co-Chair from 2015-2019. Jean received her law degree from The City University of New York School of Law in 2013 and her B.S. degree from Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Communications.
