Yan “Yuyan” Yu

Yan “Yuyan” Yu received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a Cardozo Scholar and a Public Service Scholar. Yuyan has volunteered with the City Bar Justice Center’s Planning and Estates Law Project since law school. She has a deep passion for public interest work and assisting under-resourced New Yorkers. Prior to joining VOLS, she worked at The Bronx Defenders as a housing attorney representing tenants in Housing Court eviction proceedings. As a Staff Attorney at the Senior Law Project, Yuyan helps low-income New Yorkers age 60+ with their essential life planning documents and housing issues. Yuyan was raised in China and is a native Mandarin speaker.
