VOLS was delighted to participate in the MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care’s latest Vet-to-Vet Café on November 30, 2022. VOLS Legal Director Peter Kempner joined the program to discuss the importance of planning for the future for older veterans by preparing their Last Wills and Testaments, Powers of Attorney, and other Advance Directives. He also discussed how older veterans can receive free legal services from VOLS’ Veterans Initiative and how to learn more about life planning by accessing VOLS’ Planning for Your Future guide.
It was an honor to join this program, which also welcomed New York State Senator John Brooks in a discussion on crucial support services for caregivers and newly approved state legislation that will support veterans and their families.
